Praktikant/Werkstudent (m/w/d) AI & ML – Full Stack Developer

Part-time (from approx. 16h/week) or full-time Internship
About the Position:

As part of Project NOVA (Next-gen Optimization with Visionary AI), we are seeking a motivated intern (m/f/d) in Data Engineering with an interest in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML). You will work closely with interdisciplinary teams and senior leadership to develop smart data-driven solutions that support our digital transformation in the energy sector. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute your ideas, learn from experts, and help shape the future of sustainable innovation.

Location: Trench Austria GmbH – Paschingerstraße 49, Leonding
Program: Project NOVA
Internship duration: 8 to 12 months
Start date: January 2026 or by arrangement

 

Your Tasks

  • Work with cross-functional teams to identify and implement AI/ML opportunities

  • Support the development, training, and implementation of machine learning models

  • Analyze large datasets to gain business insights

  • Document development processes and model results

  • Present results to stakeholders using visualizations and reports

  • Assist in developing and maintaining full-stack applications for AI dashboards and tools

  • Help integrate front-end solutions with Azure-based backends

  • Contribute to ensuring the performance, scalability, and security of our solutions

  • Work closely with domain experts to turn business requirements into technical features

  • Continuously expand your knowledge in the field of AI/ML

Your Profile

  • Enrolled in or recently completed studies in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, AI/ML, or a comparable field

  • Good understanding of machine learning algorithms and methods

  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, C#, JavaScript, or Java

  • Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn)

  • Experience with front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular) is a plus

  • Experience in back-end development (e.g., Node.js, Django) is a plus

  • Basic knowledge of Azure cloud services (e.g., Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure SQL) is a plus

  • Experience with vector databases (e.g., Pinecone) is a plus

  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills

  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus
